Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (1/28/13)

目标: 1) I can prepare and plan for Chinese New Year celebrations.  2) I can ask, give, and follow directions to various destinations.  3) I can gain cultural and political knowledge about China through viewing a movie.

功课: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Movie Unit assessment: Monday, 2/4/13.  3) Your list of group members w/captain due tomorrow.  Sign up supplies your group will bring in before Friday, 2/1/13.  All supplies need to be delivered to room 29 before 2/8/13.  5) Review text page 36.


  1. 1) Sit on your 3rd quarter new seat.  2) Turn in your product with checklist.  3) Pass out / go over your grades for 2Q and midterm.  4) Sign up Chinese New Year’s cooking group w/supplies your group will bring and designate your group captain.  Make six groups of four-five (3 groups of four and 3 groups of five) for Chinese cooking on 2/8/13.
  2. 1) Quick review (前, 后, 左, 右, 东, 西, 南, 北).  2) Teach new characters (往 = 向, 拐 = 转, 灯, 红绿灯, 往前走 = 向前走, 往右拐 = 往右转, 路口, 十字路口, 红绿灯路口, 丁字路口, 马路).
  3. Movie time.


Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (1/28/13)


Objectives: 1) I can talk about my pets.  2) I can sing Happy Chinese New Year song.  3) I can plan and prepare for Chinese New Year celebration activities.  4) I can gain cultural knowledge about China through viewing a Chinese movie.

Homework: 1) Movie Discussion Questions due on Friday, 2/8/13.  2) Chinese character writing assignment.  Know all meanings and sound by Wednesday.


  1. 1) Chinese Club meeting: 6P on Friday, 2/1/13.  Bring in your lunch.  Drink and refreshments will be served.  2) Confirm cooking groups / Choose red envelopes, if interested.  3) Turn in your PPT slides printout.  4) Song time—Happy Chinese New Year.
  2. 1) Pass out / go over Movie Unit Story Map and Discussion Questions.  2) Pass and go over your grades for 2Q and midterm.
  3. Teach new characters (2P: 猫, 狗, 鸟, 金, 鱼, 金子; 7P: 猫, 狗).



Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (1/28/13)


Objectives: 1) I can complete Student Inventory worksheet.  2) I can understand Ms. Chang’s classroom expectations and daily routines.

Homework: 1) Student Inventory worksheet due tomorrow.  2) Signature slip due: Thursday, 2/1/13.


  1. 1) Sit on your assigned seat.  Get team assignment.  2) Pass out / go over Student Inventory worksheet.  Collect.  3) Pass out / go over Ms. Chang’s classroom expectations.
  2. Go over Ms. Chang’s daily routines.
