Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (1/31/13)

目标: 1) I can ask, give and follow directions.  2) I can gain cultural, historical and political knowledge about China through watching a movie.

功课: 1) WB page 36.  2) Movie unit assessment: Monday, 2/4/13.  Lesson Three Chapter test Part II: Monday, 2/11/13.


  1. 1) Captains checks WB page 34.  Go over answer key.  2) Review text page 36.
  2. 1) Pair practice: practice giving / following directions (往前走, 往北走, 往东走, 往右走, 往东拐, 往右拐, 往西走, 往西拐, 到, 在, 过).  2) Road map practice.
  3. Movie time.



Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (1/31/13)


Objectives: 1) I can talk about my pets.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about China through watching a movie.  3) I can sharpen my listening skill through watching video clips.

Homework: 1) Expand your skit.  2) Fill out your movie discussion questions.

Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (1/31/13)


Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms in Chinese.  2) (3P) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese characters.  3) I can define what Hanyu Pinyin is.

Homework: Review 6 learned terms.


1.   1) Any signature slip?  (3P: Mikayla, Olivia, Emma, ; 5P: Cassidy).  2) Return China reading packet answer sheet.  Makeup work (3P: Maria; 5P: Ian, Jason).  3) Quick review (Ni Hao)

2.   1) Go over Introduction to Hanyu Pinyin handout.  2) Teach new terms (Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Lao Shi, Lao Shi Hao, Zhang Lao Shi).  3) (3P) Culture reading: page 2.  4) Pass out / go over square paper and character table.
