Procedures for 2/4/13

Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (2/4/13)

目标: 1) I can name various places around the town.  2) I can give and follow directions.  3) I can acquire cultural knowledge about China through watching a movie.

功课: 1) Study for your Movie Unit assessment.  Test is on Thursday, 2/7/13.  2) Chinese character writing assignment.  .


  1. 1) The Engineering and Manufacturing Career Day was this past Saturday, Feb 2, at CVCC from 9:30-11:30 am.  Video clip time,  2) Collect cooking supplies.  3) Pass out scheduling materials / report cards.  The assembly for sophomores is at 2P.  4) Pass out / go over Study Guide for Movie Unit Assessment.  4) Work in Red Lab for movie unit assessment this Thursday, 2/7/13.
  2. 1) Captains check WB page 36.  Go over answer key.  2) Movie time.  3) Teach new characters / terms (天堂, 天堂鸟, 操, 体操, 场, 操场, 体育场, 网球场, 足球场, 篮球场, 棒球场, 运动场, 体育馆, 办, 办公, 办公室, 部, 小卖部, 楼, 楼上, 楼下, 一楼, 二楼, 教, 教室,教室楼).




Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (2/4/13)


Objectives: 1) I can talk about my pets.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about China through watching a movie.  3) I can read text passages fluently.

Homework: 1) Character writing assignment.  2) Fill out Movie discussion Questions.  3) WB pages 45-46.  4) Lesson Seven chapter test: 2/19/13.  Skit due 2/15/13.  Oral exam needs to be done by 2/15/13.   Round robin reading: Wednesday, 2/13/13.


  1. 1) Collect cooking lesson supplies.  2) Chinese Club activity will be rescheduled to next Friday, 2/15/13.  3) (2P) Compare characters (马, 吗, 妈, 几, 谁, 谁的, 什么, 呢).
  2. 1) Teach new characters (宠, 物, 很, 凶, 可, 爱, 爱/愛好, 愛/愛人, 可是).  2) Introduce opposites of adjectives (大 ó 小, 凶/兇 ó 可爱, 大小, 只是, 只有, 是 <=> 不是, 有 ó 沒有.  3) Read text passages.  4) Movie time.



Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (2/4/13)


Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese characters through reading and viewing video clips.  3) I can write simple Chinese picture characters.

Homework: 1) Review 11 learned terms.  2) Complete character writing assignment.


  1. 1) Quick review (6 terms).  2) Teach new terms (Zai Jian, Zao, Ni Zao, Zao An, Zao Shang Hao).
  2. 1) Culture reading: China (pages. 2-3).  2)  DVD: Chinese characters (sun, man, moon).
  3. Teach Chinese characters (3P: sun, moon, person/people; 5P: sun).
