Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (2/5/13)

目标: 1) I can ask, give and follow directions.  2) I can read text passages fluently.  3) I can comprehend audio file.

功课: 1) Practice giving directions orally.  2) WB page 39 (#7-#8).  3) Question on WB page 40 Section R.

程序:

  1. 1) Collect cooking lesson supplies.  2) Road map activity.  3) Read text passages on pages 32-33.  4) Listening activity: WB page 40 Section R.
  2. Surprise!

 

 

Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (2/5/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about pets.  2) I can prepare for my Chinese New Year celebration activity.  3) I can compare and contrast Chinese and American cultural differences through watching a Chinese movie.  4) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.

Homework: Practice conversation questions.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Captains check WB pages 45-46.  Go over answer key.  2) Collect cooking lesson supplies.  3) Quick review (宠, 物, 凶, 可, 爱, 可是).  4) Read text passages.  5) Sing Happy New Year song.
  2. 1) Pass out / go over conversation questions handout.  2) Conversation question practice + Q/A.  3) (2P) Interview activity: WB page 42 Section C.
  3. Movie time.

 

 

Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (2/5/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese characters through reading and view video clips.  3) I can write simple Chinese picture characters.

Homework: 1) Review 14 terms.  2) Complete Chinese character writing assignment.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (11 terms + 3 characters).  2) Teach new terms (Xie Xie, Bu Xie, Bu Ke Qi).
  2. 1) Culture reading: China (3P: pages 4-5; 5P: pages 3-5.  Showcase traditional and contemporary publications.  2) (3P) Video clips: (mountain, tree, mouth).  2) Teach Chinese characters (3P: shan, mu, kou; 5P: moon + person/ people).
