Procedures for 2/13/13

Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (2/13/13)

目标: 1) I can read text passages fluently.  2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  3) I can create a skit with a partner by applying what I have learned before.  4) I can give directions between places.

功课: 1) Lesson Three conversation question oral exam tomorrow.  2) Skit draft due on at the end of the class period on Friday.

程序:

  1. 1) Turn in your scheduling worksheet + confirmation printout.  2) Claim your cooking supplies.  If you do not, your stuff will become class possessions.  3) Makeup test (莫薇芝); makeup work-character worksheet / definitions (柯佩芝, 益怡湘,谷特妮,哈瑞宁,李文敦,米嘉琳,苏丽雯).  4) Round robin reading: text pages 32-33.
  2. 1) Practice conversation questions + work with your partner on your skit. ó road map oral exam.

Objectives: 1) I can read text passages fluently.  2) I can prepare for my chapter test on Wednesday, 2/20/13.  3) I can enjoy cooking Chinese pot stickers to celebrate Chinese New Year.

Homework: Lesson Seven character worksheet + chapter test: Wednesday, 2/20/13.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Makeup work (Suzu, Adam).  Spread the word, please.  Chinese Club group picture at the end of 3P.  (2P): round robin reading.  2) Writing practice.  3) Work with your partner on your skit.
  2. Get into your group and move to your station.  Claim your cooking supplies.  Read recipe + cooking instructions on the bag of pot stickers carefully.  Have fun + enjoy eating + clean up.

Objectives: 1) I can say and write numbers in Chinese.  2) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese New Year celebrations.  3) (5P) I can showcase my mastery of Chinese greeting terms.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Review 8 number terms.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (greeting terms + yi, er, san, si + 8 Chinese picture characters).  2) Teach new terms (wu, liu, qi, ba).  Write Chinese characters.  3) Audio file for numbers.

  1. 1) Captains check WB page 47.  Go over answer key.  2) Practice singing.  Sing for our friends.  2) (2P) Divide job responsibilities among your group members.  Fill in the form with your job responsibility.  (7P) Round robin reading.

功课: 1) Lesson Three characters worksheet + Lesson Four character definitions due tomorrow.  2) Lesson Three round robin reading: Wednesday, 2/13/13.  3) Skit draft: due Friday, 2/15/13.  4) Work in Red Lab: Thursday + Friday for oral exam and skit.  Complete all oral exam + road map by the end of Friday.

  1. 1) Please claim your cooking supplies.  2) Pass out Lesson Four character worksheet, pass ut / go over skit choices + checklist.  3) Quick review (礼堂, 办公室, 小卖部, 操场).  4) Go over pictures for Pen Pal letters, and Getting around Town.  Need pictures of (越野, 阳冬, 柯佩芝).  5) Fill out your pen pal’s English and Chinese name.  6) Report to Ms. Chang your intention of course recommendation for next year while you take your chapter test.  7) Return your scheduling worksheet with signatures from teachers and parent and printed confirmation printout of class requested with parent signature on/before Thursday, 2/14/13.

目标: I can enjoy cooking Chinese fried rice and making egg rolls to celebrate Chinese New Year.

功课: Study for your chapter test.

程序:

1) Get into your station with your group members.  2) Get your supplies to be ready to cook.  3) Follow the recipes to cook fried rice and make egg rolls.  4) Clean up!

Homework: 1) Review 22 terms.  2) Quiz #1: Wednesday, 2/13/13.  3) (5P) Chinese characters writing assignment due next Monday, 2/11/13.

Procedure:

  1. 1) (3P) Collect your character writing assignment.  2) Quick review (18 terms + 8 / 6 characters).  3) Teach new terms (Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo, Tong Xue men Hao).  4) (5P) Teach new characters (water, fire).
  2. 1) DVD: Chinese folk art of paper cutting.  2) Finish up cutting paper patterns.  Collect as participation grade.

功课: 1) Study for your chapter test.  2) Study recipes for tomorrow’s cooking lesson.

程序:

  1. 1) Check your e-mail for your Movie Unit Assessment document.  If you cannot open your e-mail account, ask Ms. Chang for a hard copy.  2) Respond to the questions with your answer and e-mail your work back to Ms. Chang by the end of the class period.  The time stamp of your file decides whether I will accept it or not.

Objectives: 1) I can prepare for the Chinese New Year celebration activities.  2) I can read text passages fluently.  3) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  4) I can use various sentence patterns to express same idea.  5) I can compare and contrast cultural differences between America and China through watching a movie.

Homework: 1) (2P) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Practice conversation questions.  3) Movie Discussion Questions due tomorrow.  4) Pet paragraph due tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Collect cooking supplies.  2) Movie time.  3) (2P) Go over pet paragraph.
  2. 1) (7P) Read text passages.  2) (2P) Teach new character (真, 很,它,都). 3) Teach sentence patterns (是/有…吗? => 是不是….? 有没有…? + moving objects from beginning to the end or vice versa).

1.   1) Collect cooking supplies.  Check WB page 39 #7-#8 & WB page 40 Section R.  Go over answer key.  2) Teach new characters (劳,驾, 劳作, 驾车, 劳驾).  3) Read text passages on pages 32-33.  4) Pass out / Go over cooking lesson checklist.

Procedure:

  1. Due to a pep assembly at MS this Friday, HS students report to Media Center this Friday, please.  Cooking lesson has to reschedule to next week (Wednesday).  2) Collect cooking supplies.  3) (7P) Teach new character (真, 很,它,都,真的啊! 是啊!)
  2. Go over pet paragraph.  1) What kind of pets do you have, 2) How many pets do you have?  What is its name and its age?  4) What is it like?
