Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (3/1/13)

目标: I can have fun running the Amazing Race by applying what I have learned before.

功课: 1) WB pages 45-46.  Due next Monday.  2) Practice reading text passages on pages 44-45.


  1. 1) All pairs get your red wrist band and passport folder / bag.  Write your name on the passport slip.  Empty all your pocket and leave your cell phone in room 29.  2) Pay attention to the terms here (最后, 左边, 面向, 旁边, 对面, 女老师厕所, 楼梯).  3) Review all room terms.
  2. Amazing Race.





Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (3/1/13)


Objectives: 1) I can talk about nationality and language skills.  2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  3) I can acquire cultural knowledge about the Imperial Summer Palace in China.

Homework: 1) Chinese characters writing assignment.  2) Practice reading text passage on page 68.


  1. 1) Quick review (中国, 中国人, 中文, 美国, 美国人, 英国, 英国人, 英文, 德国, 德国人, 德文, 哪, 日本, 说, 加拿大, 加拿大人, 生日, 一本书, 本子, 日本人, 日文, 澳大利亚, 澳大利亚人, 新西兰, 新西兰人).  2) Teach new characters / terms (对, 起, 关, 系, 对不起, 没关系, 会).  3) Read text passages on pages 66-68.
  2. Oral conversation practice.



Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (3/1/13)


Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese.  2) I can name colors in Chinese.  3) (3P) I can explore tangram pieces games.  4) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese food, Chinese yo-yo, and martial arts.

Homework: Review learned color terms.


  1. 1) (3P) Quick review (hong se, huang se, hei se, bai se).  Teach (lan se, lv se, zi se, zong se).  2) (5P) Teach terms (hong se, huang se, hei se, bai se).  3) Write sentence #10.  4) Read sentences #6-#10.  Collect draft #2.
  2. 1) DVDs: Chinese Yo-Yo / Martial Arts.  2) Culture reading: Chinese Food.  3) (3P) Tangram pieces exploration activity.
