Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (3/19/13)

目标: 1) I can read text passages fluently.  2) I can talk about my leisure life.

功课: 1) Practice text passages on page 46.  Round robin reading tomorrow.  2) WB page 55, if not completed in class.

程序:

  1. 1) Makeup work (Round Robin Reading—pages 44-45: Anthony, Paige, Logan, Keiichi, Ryan, Vicki, Priya, Karli, Magan S., Brandon S., Collin—by the end of this Friday; skit script—Brandon H.).  2) Go over text passages on page 47 to practice reading TV guide.  3) Read text passages on page 46.  4) Listening activity: WB page 53.  Go over answer key.  5) Go over terms (电视台, 教室, 教堂, 西游记, 卧虎藏龙, 时间, 地点, 教书, 家教, 日常生活, 学校生活, 休闲生活).

2.   1) Conversation questions Q/A.  3) Pair activity: WB page 55.   Go over answer key.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (3/19/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about favorite sports.  2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  3) I can read text passages fluently.  4) I can create a skit with partner by applying what I have learned before.

Homework: 1) Practice conversation questions.  2) Practice reading text passages.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (游泳, 跑步, 乒乓球, 打, 踢, 去, 吧, 最, 足球, 棒球, 木棒, 板球, 木板, 骑车, 骑马, 喜欢/歡, 欢/歡喜, 篮/籃球, 网/網球).  2) (2P) Pass out text passages slip.  3) Read text passages on pages 77-78.  4) Chanting time.  5) (7P) Pass out / go over sports supplementary handout.
  2. 1)  Skit preparation + Conversation practice.  2) Individual conversation Q/A.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (3/19/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple greeting terms in Chinese.  2) I can write simple Chinese picture characters.  3) I can acquire cultural knowledge about and explore Chinese folk art of cutting papers.

Homework: 1) Review 16 terms.  2) Chinese character writing assignment.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (13 terms + 3 characters).  2) Teach new terms (xie xie, bu xie, bu ke qi).
  2. 1) Video clips (mountain, wood).  2) Teach Chinese characters (mountain, wood).
  3. 1) DVD: paper cuts.  2) Hands-on activity: cutting paper patterns: longevity and double happiness.
