Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (4/8/13)

目标: 1) I can compare and make contrast.  2) I can review previously learned terms through dialogue practice.

功课: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Draft your 3rd pen pal letter.  Due on 4/18 for grading.


  1. 1) Return papers, flash drive, and pen pal letters.  2) Announcement: Confucius Institute at Cleveland State University sponsor Summer Bridge program (7/20-7/25), summer immersion camp (6/17-7/19, 9:00-3:30/daily, $150/week), speech contest (我爱我家) and writing contest (我爱我家).  Please see Ms. Chang for details.  3) Ms. Chang is not available tomorrow afternoon due to a staff meeting.  4) Makeup test—video project (哈瑞宁, 史玖丹).
  2. 1) Teach new terms (较, 比较, 高, 矮, 像, 长).  2) Pair activity.




Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (4/8/13)


Objectives: 1) I can describe my physical appearance.  2) I can name different body parts.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese cooking and mealtime customs.  4) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Complete exit slips.


  1. 1) Makeup work—PPT sports slide (7P: 查明傑, 柯安廉, 马碧爱, 涂白丽).  2) Return papers.
  2. 1) Teach new terms (头, 发, 头发, 眉, 眉毛, 眼, 睛, 眼睛).  2) Pass out supplementary handouts + culture reading articles + exit slips.  3) Conversation questions practice.  4) Pair activity: culture reading.



Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (4/8/13)


Objectives: 1) I can say simple numbers in Chinese.  2) I can recognize 20 simple Chinese picture and number characters.  3) I can count from zero to one hundred in Chinese.  4) I can explore origami.  5) I can acquire cultural knowledge about Chinese schools.

Homework: 1) Review 20 characters for quiz #2 on Wednesday.  2) Review counting principle.
