Procedures for 4/10/13

Procedure for HS 1P Chinese III (4/10/13)

目标: 1) I can compare and contrast things.  2) I can comprehend text passages.  3) I can write a pen pal letter.

功课: Chinese character writing assignment.


1.  1) Work on Red Lab on Thursday, 4/18/13 to complete your pen pal letter.  2) Quick review (比较, 高, 矮, 像, 长).  2) Teach new characters (奇, 怪, 胖, 瘦, 挺, 塌).

2.   1) Try writing 4 sentences about comparison / answering simple conversation questions.  2) Write your pen pal letter + Ms. Chang translates your pen pal letter.




Procedure for MS 2P/7P Chinese I (4/10/13)


Objectives: 1) I can name and describe different body parts.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese table etiquette / differences between Chinese and western food.  3) I can brainstorm ideas for my Voki creation.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Exit slip.  3) Work on Media Center Lab 1 to complete your Voki project on Thursday, 4/18/13.  4) Ten sentences of body parts description is due at the end of class period on Thursday, 4/11/13.


  1. 1) Quick review (头, 头发, 眉毛, 眼睛).  2) Captains check exit slip.  Go over answer key.  3) Teach new terms (鼻, 鼻子, 耳, 朵, 嘴, 巴).  4) Showcase Voki sample work.
  2. 1) Pass out culture reading articles w/exit slips.  2) Draft your sentences about 10 different body parts.



Procedure for MS 3P/5P Exploratory Chinese (4/10/13)


Objectives: 1) I can showcase my mastery of 20 Chinese number and picture characters.  2) I can talk about myself.  3) I can explore origami.  4) I can brainstorm ideas for my art project.

Homework: 1) Practice reading sentences 1-2.  2) Art project due on Tuesday, 4/23.  Oral presentation starts on Wednesday, 4/24/13.


  1. 1) Quiz #2.  2) Pass out / go over oral presentation supplementary handout.  3) Teach term (sui).  4) Write / read sentences #1-#2.
  2. 1) Pass out / go over art project requirements.  2) Showcase art project samples.  3) Finish up origami.
