Procedures for 8/29/13

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P/2P/8P (8/29/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can discriminate / blend consonants and vowels.  2) I can write simple Chinese characters.  3) I can use website tools to learn to write my Chinese name and pronounce syllables.

Homework: 1) School supplies due tomorrow (jumbo size book cover, marker, sock, binder w/dividers and tabs).  2) Chinese characters writing assignment.  3) Review learned syllables and new syllables in m section.

Procedure:

1.      1) Missing homework or homework without name (1P: Bradley, Emma, ?? + 3 copies without name; 2P: 3 copies without name and 1 missing—Shannon, Evy, Jamie, Caroline; 8P: 4 missing and 1 without name: Tyler, Ian, Sean, Grant).  Tina / Paul W. talk to Ms. Chang, please.  2) Chinese Club application form?  3) Meet the teacher night today.  4) (2P) Fire drill procedure.

2.      1) Introduce www.mdbg.net.  2) Pass out / go over introduce procedure to learn character animation for tomorrow.  2) Teach bpmf handout (Finish bmp + m section).  3) Teach picture characters (people, tree, water, fire, mouth, mountain / (8P) people, tree, mouth, mountain ).

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (8/29/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can write simple Chinese characters.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese characters.  3) I can gain geographical and cultural knowledge about major cities in China and Chinese characters.

Homework: 1) Review learned 19 terms.  2) Chinese character writing assignment.  Due tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.      1) (5P) Return China reading packet.  2) Quick review (14 terms + 8 Chinese characters).

2.      1) Teach new terms (qi li, jing li, zuo xia, qing zuo).  2) (5P) Class activity (xie xie, bu xie, bu ke qi).  3) Teach Chinese characters (water, fire).

3.      1) DVD: Shanghai.  2) Culture reading: pages 1-6. 3) Show & tell: Chinese publications + seals.
