Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P/2P/8P (9/30/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can discriminate and blend vowels and consonants.  2) I can say and write numbers in Chinese.  3) (2P / 8P) I can evaluate my Chinese proficiency.  4) I can understand requirements for test retake procedure.

Homework: 1) Quiz #4 (gkhjqx) tomorrow.   2) Chinese character writing assessment.  3) Review learned syllables and number characters.  4) Quiz #5 (zh, ch, sh, r, z, c, s): Monday, 10/7/13.

Procedure:

1.      1) Opening routine.  Makeup work (1P: Emma; 2P: Taylor, Patricia; 8P: Ryan).  (2P / 8P) Go over / Collect self-assessment paper.  2) Go over chapter test retake form and procedure.  Retake on/before Friday, 10/4/13.  Signature due on Wednesday, 10/2/13.  3) Return chapter test papers.  4) Share chapter test result.

2.      1) Dictation (gkhjqx).  2) Teach numbers (5, 6, 7, 8).  3) Go over (zh, ch) sections.

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese.  2) (3P) I can explore Chinese tangram piece game.  3) I can say colors in Chinese.  4) I can gain cultural knowledge about (5P) Chinese food, (3P) silk and embroidery.

Homework: 1) Art project due tomorrow.  2) Practice reading sentences #1-#10.  Oral presentation starts on Wednesday, 10/2/13.  Quiz #4: Thursday, 10/3/13.

Procedure:

1.      1) No locker break from Tuesday-Thursday.  Quick review (11 colors).  2) Read sentences #1-#10.  3) DVD: Chinese program in American schools.  4) Showcase Chinese class activities from last year.  Show Chinese class rosters.

Homework: 1) Review learned syllables and numbers characters.  2) Quiz #4: Tuesday, 10/1/13.  3) (2P / 8P) Bring your self-assessment form.  Complete it in class next Monday, 9/30/13.

Procedure:

1.      1) (HR) Collect dress down money.  Return papers (1P: Emma).  Opening routine.  Collect Goal-setting paperwork (1P: Bradley; 2P: Taylor; 8P: Bryan—learning style).

Homework: 1) Work on your art projects.  Due Tuesday, 10/1/13.  2) Practice reading sentences #1-#10.  Oral presentation starts on Wednesday, 10/2/13.  Quiz #4: Thursday, 10/3/13.

Procedure:
