Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P/2P/8P (9/9/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can discriminate / blend consonants and vowels.  2) (1P) I can define / locate four Chinese municipalities on a map.  3) (1P / 2P) I can call my classmates by their Chinese name.

Homework: Review learned syllables.

Procedure:

1.      1) Chinese I midterm dates: Jan. 9 and Jan. 10, 2014.  Chinese I final: May 27 and May 28, 2014.  2) Collect Chinese character writing assignment (2P: Patricia; 8P: Tina, Zach, Alex).  Claim your textbook (1P: Bradley; 2P: Shaan; 8P: Stephanie, Troy).  (8P) Return papers / Check school supplies (Sydney, Grant, Erica, Stephanie, Luke, Rosa, Jenna, Rianna).  3) Quiz #1.  4) (1P / 2P) Pass out / Go over Chinese names.

2.      1) Dictation (d).  2) Teach t section.  3) (1P) Video clips: Shanghai.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (9/9/13)

 

 

Objectives: 1) I can explore Chinese folk art of cutting paper patterns.  2) (5P) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese pronunciation.  3) I can say / write numbers from one to eight in Chinese.  4) I can say and understand basic greeting terms and classroom expressions.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Review learned numbers.

Procedure:

1.      1) Quick review (4 numbers + 8 picture characters).  2) Teach / write Chinese numbers (5, 6, 7, & 8).  3) (5P) Culture reading: page 5.

2.      1) Quiz #1.  2) Class activity: cutting paper patterns (longevity + double happiness).  Collect as participation grade.
