Procedures for 9/12/13

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P/2P/8P (9/12/13)

 Objectives: 1) I can discriminate / blend consonants and vowels.  2) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms and classroom expressions.  3) I can set goals for my Chinese language learning.

Homework: 1) Review learned greeting terms & syllables.  2) WB pages 4 & 8.  Due Monday, 9/16/13.  3) Quiz #2 (dtnl): Monday, 9/16/13.  Quiz #3 (greetings): Monday, 9/23.  Chapter test #1 (China reading packets + Lesson 1): Friday, 9/27.   4) Goal-setting form due tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.      1) (1P) Display Chinese Club member list + Pass out ACT Explore test pamphlet.  2) Captains check WB page 1.  Go over the answer key.  3) Dictation (l) + Quick review (greeting terms).  4) Teach (greeting terms).  5) Video clip: (1P) little caveman w/sun.

2.      Pass out goal-setting form and gkhjqx handout.  Go over goal-setting form.

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (9/12/13)

 

 

Objectives: 1) I can gain cultural knowledge about / explore Chinese finger guess game, Chinese yo-yo, and Chinese lucky and unlucky numbers.  3) I can say / write numbers from zero to one hundred in Chinese.  4) I can recognize Chinese number characters and picture characters.

Homework: 1) Review Chinese counting principle.  2) Quiz #3: Monday, 9/23/13.

Procedure:

1.      1) Missing test / homework (3P: Claire—test + characters; 5P: Brandon: paper cuts + paper patterns.).  Left your number table handout yesterday?  Quick review (12 numbers + 8 picture characters).  2) Count from zero to one hundred.  3) (5P) Culture reading: Chinese lucky and unlucky numbers.

2.      1) Culture reading: Chinese finger guessing game.  2) (3P) Class activity: finger guessing game tournament.  3) Video: Chinese yo-yo.
