Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P/2P/8P (9/30/13)


Objectives: 1) I can discriminate and blend vowels and consonants.  2) I can say and write numbers in Chinese.  3) (2P / 8P) I can evaluate my Chinese proficiency.  4) I can understand requirements for test retake procedure.

Homework: 1) Quiz #4 (gkhjqx) tomorrow.   2) Chinese character writing assessment.  3) Review learned syllables and number characters.  4) Quiz #5 (zh, ch, sh, r, z, c, s): Monday, 10/7/13.


1.      1) Opening routine.  Makeup work (1P: Emma; 2P: Taylor, Patricia; 8P: Ryan).  (2P / 8P) Go over / Collect self-assessment paper.  2) Go over chapter test retake form and procedure.  Retake on/before Friday, 10/4/13.  Signature due on Wednesday, 10/2/13.  3) Return chapter test papers.  4) Share chapter test result.

2.      1) Dictation (gkhjqx).  2) Teach numbers (5, 6, 7, 8).  3) Go over (zh, ch) sections.



Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (9/30/13)


Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese.  2) (3P) I can explore Chinese tangram piece game.  3) I can say colors in Chinese.  4) I can gain cultural knowledge about (5P) Chinese food, (3P) silk and embroidery.

Homework: 1) Art project due tomorrow.  2) Practice reading sentences #1-#10.  Oral presentation starts on Wednesday, 10/2/13.  Quiz #4: Thursday, 10/3/13.


1.      1) No locker break from Tuesday-Thursday.  Quick review (11 colors).  2) Read sentences #1-#10.  3) DVD: Chinese program in American schools.  4) Showcase Chinese class activities from last year.  Show Chinese class rosters.

1) (5P) Culture reading: Chinese food.  2) (3P) Video clips: Chinese silk / embroidery.  Showcase silk cocoon.  3) (3P) Class activity: Tangram piece game.
