Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (10/31/13)

Objectives: 1) I can play interactive game to review my chapter test.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese name, family, and making / flying a kite.  3) I can utilize chanting to retain my Chinese learning.  4) I can introduce myself and others.    

Homework: 1) Review learned syllables.  2) WB pages 11-12.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Ms. Chang checks WB pages 10 / 13 (for 8P only).  2) Go to I drive, click Ms. Chang’s folder, click Ni Hao games, click 3rd edition, click Ni Hao 1 games, log in with your name as user name and any key input as password, and click Lesson Two to activate the game.  Click high-level thinking skill game to try.  3) Play Quizlet online flash cards, http://quizlet.com/3629391/ni-hao-1-lesson-2-vocabulary-flash-cards/.

Procedure:

1.      1) Opening routine.  (HR) Student fee?  Work in media center tomorrow.  Return foam board / instruction sheet from dragonfly kit, please.  Pass out / go over front nasal sound handout (an, en, in) sections.  2) Dictation (y, w) + all other sections.  3) Read text passages on pages 7-9.  Sight read Lesson Two text passages.  4) Finish up Study Guide.  5) Go over text pages 10-12.

Procedure:

1.      1) 8th graders + 7G students teach 7R students (5, 6, 7, 8)—5 minutes.  Makeup work (3P: Nathan).  2) Review (28 greeting terms).  3) Teach numbers (9, 10, 0, hundred).  Collect, if done.  4) Quiz #1.

Objectives: 1) I can gain knowledge about Chinese Shaolin Temple, Shaolin Monks and wu bu quan martial arts from viewing video clips.  2) I can utilize a website tool to type Chinese pinyin and Chinese characters.  3) I can learn to make a kite and a dragonfly Chinese knot through viewing video clips.  4) I can enjoy watching video clips about Chinese abacus.

Homework: 1) Review learned Chinese characters and learned front nasal syllables.  2) A worksheet about Shaolin Temple and Shaolin Monks will pass out next week for grade.

Procedure:
