Procedures for 10/8/13

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (10/8/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can discriminate / blend consonants and vowels.  2) I can use addition and subtraction operators to solve math equations in Chinese.  3) I can understand what will be covered in the chapter test.    

Homework: 1) Review learned syllables and operator characters.  2) WB page 20 #1-#6.  3) Practice online flashcards, http://quizlet.com/3629469/ni-hao-1-lesson-3-vocabulary-flash-cards/ (Ni Hao One Lesson Three).  4) Chinese Club meeting (craft): Thursday, 10/24/13.          

Procedure:

1.      1) Opening routine.  (2P / 8P) Return quiz papers.  Makeup work (1P: McKenna: WB page 19).  (2P: Cameron, Bryce, Jake; 8P: Emily, Jonathan) talk to Ms. Chang, please.  2) Captains check WB pages 17-18.  3) Random drawing: Number dictation / Sight-reading / Translate numbers / ó (1P) Quiz #5. 

2.      1) Practice translating sentences.  2) Model how to use quizlet resource.  3) Teach compound vowels (ai, ao) sections.  4) Pass out / go over study guide.  5)  Pair activity: Flash card activity.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (10/8/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can understand Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and grading policy.  2) I can understand the requirements to complete the China reading packet.  3) I can gain geographic and historical knowledge about China. 

Homework: 1) China reading packet due in class: Thursday, 10/10/13.  2) Signature slip due: Friday, 10/11/13.

Procedure:

1.      1) Any signature slip?  Go over Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and grading policy.  2) Pass out and go over China reading packet.

1) Video clip: Introduction to China.  2) Culture reading: China, page 1.
