Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (11/26/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  2) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently with correct intonation and tone.  3) I can sing Happy Birthday song and chanting in Chinese.

Homework: Practice conversation questions + Review Sounds 1 / 2 sentences.

Procedure:

1.      1) (HR) Collect canned food.  Deliver to Mrs. Shega’s office.  Opening routine.  Makeup work (1P: Sara—character worksheet; 2P: Patricia, Anthony—character worksheet, Marco, Shann—ask for an E/I pass, please; 8P: Jonathan).  (2P) Cameron talks to Ms. Chang, please.  Finish up your 2-point sight reading task by the end of today, please.  (1P/2P) Return Lesson Four chapter test papers.  2) Pass out Review Sounds 2 handout / Lesson Five text passages slip.  Go over sentences #1-#3.  3) Quick review (, , ) + sentence patterns review.  4) Teach (, 什么).

2.      1) Chanting / song time.  2) Field trip pictures.  3) Pair work: Conversation Q/A practice.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/26/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can write simple Chinese characters.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese characters and Chinese publications.

Homework: 1) Review learned 18 terms.  2) Chinese character writing assignment.  Due in class.

Procedure:

1.      1) Makeup work (3P: Brogan—China reading packet).  2) Quick review (14 terms + 5 Chinese characters).

2.      1) Teach new terms (qi li, jing li, zuo xia, qing zuo).  2) Teach Chinese characters (mouth, water, fire).  Collect.

3.      1) Video clip: (mouth, 5P: mountain).  2) Culture reading: pages 1-2.
