Procedures for 11/19/13

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (11/19/13)


Objectives: 1) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently with accurate intonation and tones.  2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  3) (1P/2P) I can gain cultural knowledge about how Chinese celebrate their birthdays.

Homework: 1) Practice reading text passages + Review Sounds 1 sentences #1-#15.  2) Practice conversation questions.


1.      1) Opening routine.  Makeup work (1P; Sara + Marissa; 2P: Patricia, Grant, Patricia + Jake; 8P: Sean + Bryan).  Go over chaperone list.  2) Sight read text passages + Review Sounds 1 sentences #1-#12.  4) Go over Review Sounds 1 sentences (2P) #10-#15) (1P / 8P) #13-#15.  3) Skit presentation (2P: Taylor, Marco + Anthony, Jake + Patricia; 8P: Katie + Sara).

2.      1) (1P/2P) Video clip: Birthday celebration.  2) Pair presentation + Pair practice (10 minutes)—conversation questions.  Q/A ó Captains record menu selection (1P: Marissa; 2P: Shannon, Caroline; 8P: Katie, Ian, Sara).





Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/19/13)

Objectives: 1) I can understand Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and grading policy.  2) I can understand the requirements to complete the China reading packet.

Homework: 1) China reading packet due in class: Thursday, 11/21/13.  2) Signature slip due: Friday, 11/22/13.


1.      1) Any signature slip?  A substitute teacher will cover Ms. Chang while Chinese classes go on a field trip tomorrow.  Makeup work (3P: Bryan; 5P: Tom).

2.   2) Go over Ms. Chang’s classroom rules and grading policy.  2) Pass out and go over China reading packet.
