Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (11/21/13)


Objectives: 1) I can review for my chapter test.  2) I can sight read text passages and pinyin sentences fluently with accurate intonation and tone.  3) (1P/8P) I can acquire cultural knowledge about how Chinese people celebrate their birthdays.

Homework: 1) Turn in your Lesson Four character worksheet tomorrow.  2) Practice reading Review Sounds 1 sentences #1-#21.


1.      1) Opening routine.  2) Turn in your field trip survey.  Writing Thank you card (1P: Mrs. Demeo / Mrs. Yeh; 2P: Mrs. Ryan; 8P: Mrs. Speer; Mrs. Hudacek; Mrs. Pandy; Mr. Forbes.  3) Quick review (all characters).  Sight read text passages + Review Sounds 1 sentences #1-#18.   4) Teach new characters (, 生日, , 快乐, ).  5) Go over Review Sounds 1 sentences #19-#21.  6) Review Chinese date format.

2.      1) (1P/8P) Go over text pages 30-31.  2) Writing practice.


Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (11/21/13)

Objectives: 1) I can learn basic Pinyin system.  2) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.

Homework: 1) Review learned greeting terms.  2) Signature slip due tomorrow.


1.     1) Any signature slip?  Collect China reading packet.  2) Pass out and go over Introduction to Chinese Pinyin handout.  3)  Teach (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian).

3.     (3P) Pass out / go over picture character table + square papers.
