Procedures for 12/6/13

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (12/5/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions (positive, negative, possessive, question).  2) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently with correct intonation and tone.  3) I can identify school supplies and daily objects.

Homework: 1) Practice reading Review Sounds 2 handout sentences #1-#12.  2) Exit slips due at the end of the class period.  3) Review Sounds 2 oral exam: Friday, 12/13/13.  Lesson Five chapter test: Monday, 12/16/13.  1st semester mid-term: Thursday, 1/9/13 and Friday, 1/10/13 (school resumes on Monday, 1/6/13).

Procedure:

1.      1) (HR) Collect canned food items.  Opening routine.  Collect 25¢ for cooking lesson.  Quick review (刀子, , 剪刀, , , 书包, , , 橡皮, , , 谁的, 我的, 你的, 他的, 她的, 我们的, 你们的, 他们的, 她们的,, , 毛笔, , , , , 什么) + reading sentences #1-#9.  2P: Patricia + Jake report to MediaCenter tomorrow.  2) Writing practice.  3) Teach sentences #10-#12.  4) (1P) Go over text pages 36-37.

2.      1) Pair activity: conversation practice.  Q/A.  2) (2P/8P) Pass out “Bow with hands Clasped” & “Taboos When Saying Good-bye” w/exit slips.  Collect at the end of the class period.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (12/5/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can say and write numbers in Chinese.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese food, Chinese paper-cuts, Chinese characters, and Chinese calligraphy.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Review greeting terms + number terms.  3) Quiz #1: tomorrow.  Quiz #2: Friday, 12/13.

Procedure:

1.      1) Makeup work (3P: Alec + Brogan; 5P: Chris—writing).  Quick review (26 terms + 8 Chinese characters + 4 number characters).  2) Teach terms (five, six, seven, eight).

2.      1) Video clips: Chinese calligraphy + (3P): Chinese characters / (5P) Chinese paper-cuts.  2) Culture reading:  Chinese food.
