Procedures for 12/17/13

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (12/17/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can identify family members.  2) I can understand the requirements for my year-end PowerPoint presentation.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.   2) Family picture due on Monday, 1/6/14.

Procedure:

1.      1) Opening routine.  2) Wear something old and dark for art lesson tomorrow.  3) Revised schedule tomorrow (30 minutes each for 1P / 2P / 3P / 8P…).  4) Turn in retake application form at the end of class period.  5) Return character worksheet / exit slip.  Pass out Lesson Six text passages slip.  6) Captains check Lesson Six character definitions.  7) Jake + Patricia / Tina + Jonathan talk to Ms. Chang, please (Wednesday + Friday / Wednesday).  7) Makeup work (1P: McKenna / Emma—chapter test + oral exam + exit slip + character worksheet; Marissa—character worksheet; 2P: Jake + Patricia—character worksheet + oral exam; Taylor / James / Jamie / Yui / Grant—oral exam at E/I today; Caroline + Shaan—character worksheet; Shannon / Yui / Natalia / Marco / Cameron / Patricia —exit slip; 8P: Emily—chapter test + oral exam + exit slip + character worksheet; Bryan / Maddy—character worksheet; Tina + Jonathan—oral exam; Luke / Maddy—exit slip).

2.      1) Go over common writing mistakes.  2) Teach new terms (爸爸, 妈妈, 哥哥, 弟弟, 姐姐, 妹妹).  3) Pass out / go over Year-end PPT.  .

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (12/17/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself.  2) I can name colors in Chinese.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese zodiac animals and the legend of giant panda.  4) I can explore origami folding art.

Homework: 1) Practice reading sentences #1-#8.  2) Brainstorm ideas for your art project.

Procedure:

1.      1) Pass out colors flash cards.  Makeup work (3P: Alec –draft #1, quiz #2, cutting paper pattern / Mark –writing assignment / Lily—draft #1; 5P: Sam).  2) Teach terms (hong se, huang se, hei se, bai se, xi huan).  (3P: Trevor—art project) talk to Ms. Chang, please.  2) Pass out / go over animals handout.  3) Write sentence #8.  4) Practice reading sentences #1-#8.

2.      Make pinwheels.
