Procedures for 12/9/13

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (12/9/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions (positive, negative, possessive, question).  2) I can sight read pinyin sentences fluently with correct intonation and tone.  3) I can identify school supplies and daily objects.

Homework: 1) WB pages 27 (Section B) – 29.  2) Practice reading sentences #1-#18 + text passages.

Procedure:

1.      1) Opening routine.  Collect 25¢.  Quick review (刀子, , 剪刀, 书包, 橡皮, , , 谁的, , , 毛笔, , , , , 什么, 知道, 大概, 客人, 客气, 生气, 大气, 天气, 小气, 学生) + Review Sounds 2 sentences #1-#15.  Read Review Sounds 2 sentences #16-#18.  2) Practice reading text passages on pages 32-35.  3) (2P) Teach characters (, 客气, 生气, 大气, 天气, 小气).

2.      1) Conversation question practice + Q/A.  2) Listening activity: WB page 27 (Section A).  Go over answer key.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (12/9/13)

 

Objectives: 1) I can count from zero to one hundred in Chinese.  2) I can recognize Chinese picture and number characters.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese signature food.

Homework: 1) Review Chinese counting principle.  2) Review 20 Chinese characters.

Procedure:

1.      1) Return quiz #1 paper + 12 Chinese character writing assignment.  Makeup work (3P: Brogan, Holly, Trevor, Natalie; 5P: Joey).  (3P) Quick review (12 number characters + 8 picture characters).  2) Pass out / go over number table.  Introduce Chinese counting principle.  3) Counting from zero to one hundred.  4) (5P) Audio file + number rap.

2.      1) Video clips: Chinese tofu, Chinese dumplings, Chinese roast duck, Chinese hot pot & Chinese noodles.  2) (5P) Culture reading: Chinese lucky and unlucky numbers.
