Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (1/15/14)

 

Objectives:I can talk about my family and myself.  2) I can read text passages fluently.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Practice reading text passages on pages 43-46.  3) Family paragraph due on Tuesday, 1/21/14.      

Procedure:

1.      1) Opening routine.  (HR) Pass out new course schedule.  (8P) Welcome Ms. Basmagy for observation.  Chinese Club meeting at 6P tomorrow, 1/16/14.  Makeup work (New Year’s Resolutions worksheet) => Tina.  2) Pass out / go over family member / professions handouts.  3) Quick review (医生, 工人, 护士, 学生, , , 爸爸, 妈妈, 哥哥, 弟弟, 姐姐, 妹妹, , ó没有, , , ). 

2.  1) Show stroke orders for (, , , ).  2) Teach new characters (, , 保罗, 保护, ). 

3.   1) Pass out / go over family paragraph requirements.  2) (1P/2P) Draw a number for your next semester’s seat.  3) Pass out / review midterm grade slip.  Recognition time.  + Circulate Chinese class cultural activities newsletter.    

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (1/15/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can introduce myself in Chinese.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese language program in America and Chinese yoyo. 

Homework: Practice reading your oral presentation.  

Procedure:

1.   1) Return quiz #4 papers.  2) Art project (3P: 5P: Nick / Caitlin / Tom / Aidan).  Oral presentation (3P: Holly / Lily; 5P: Foster, J.C., Nick, Halle, Gillian, Isabella, Adam, Tyler, Chris, Aidan, Tom) ó study hall time.  3) Presentation, if interested.

2.   1) Video clip: Chinese programs in American Schools.  2) (3P) Showcase Chinese class activities.  3) DVD: Chinese yoyo.  Showcase Chinese yoyo.
