Procedures for 2/5/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (2/5/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about pets and animals.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese customs/traditions through viewing a Chinese movie. 3) I can apply what I have learned and create a skit with a partner.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Movie unit worksheet.  3) Practice reading text passage.  4) Brainstorm your skit.

Procedure:

1.      1) Opening routine.  Quick review (, , , , , , , , 金鱼, ).  2) Teach new characters (, , 宠物, , 可是, , 爱人, /愛好, , ).  3) (8P) Go over / Read text passages pages 54-55.

2.      1) Pair activity: skit.  2) Movie time ó Sign up student course schedule.

 

**  Early dismissal at MS.  8P only got to work on skit.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (2/5/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can say and write numbers in Chinese.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese paper cut folk art and (5P) Chinese calligraphy.  4) I can explore Chinese folk art of cutting papers.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  Due tomorrow.  2) Quiz #1 tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.      1) Quick review (26 terms).  Makeup work (5P: Matt / Henry).  2) Teach new terms (jiu, shi, ling, bai).  Collect if done.  3) Audio files time.

2.      1) Video clips: Chinese paper-cuts + (3P) Chinese calligraphy.  2) Showcase artifacts for (3P) calligraphy + (5P) Chinese publications + seals.  3) Pass out longevity paper pattern.  Collect as participation grade.
