Procedures for 2/7/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (2/7/14)

 

Objectives: 1) (8P) I can showcase singing Chinese Happy New Year song and introducing Chinese New Year traditions.  2) (1P/2P) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  3) I can read text passages fluently.4) I can apply what I have learned and create a skit with a partner.  5) (1P/2P) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese customs/traditions through viewing a Chinese movie.

Homework: 1) WB pages 42 / 44 (Section D).  2) Practice reading text passages.  3) Skit printout due on Wednesday.

Procedure:

1.      1) Opening routine.  Quick review (宠物, 可爱, 可是, 爱人, , , , , , , , , , , 金鱼, ).  2) (2P/8P) Practice performance.  / (8P) In-school field trip.  3) Sight read text passages pages 54-56.

2.      1) Skit time.  2) Movie time.  3) (1P/2P) Go over conversation questions handout Questions #1-#4.  Class activity: practice.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (2/7/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can understand Chinese counting principle.  2) I can say and recognize numbers in Chinese.  3) I can explore and hold chopsticks to pick up Cheerios.  4) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese chopsticks, (5P) Chinese four treasures of study, Chinese publications and seals.

Homework: Review learned picture + number characters.  Quiz #2: Monday, 2/10/14.

Procedure:

1.      1) Makeup work (3P: double happiness paper pattern; 5P: Matt, Michael, Henry—12 characters, double happiness paper pattern; Ana: quiz #1).  Quick review (8 Chinese picture characters + 12 number characters).  2) Pass out / go over Chinese counting principle handout.  3) Count from zero to one hundred.

2.      1) Video clip: Chinese chopsticks.  2) Class activity: Chopsticks practice w/Cheerios.  3) (5P in E/I) Showcase Four Treasures of Study / Chinese publications + seals.
