Procedures for 2/10/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (2/10/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about pets and name animals.  2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  3) I can sight read text passages fluently.  4) (1P / 2P) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese customs / traditions through viewing a Chinese movie.  5) (2P) I can sing Happy Chinese New Year song and introduce Chinese New Year traditions to other students in the school.  6) I can prepare for my chapter test.

Homework: 1) WB pages 45-46.  2) Movie unit worksheet.  3) Practice conversation questions.  4) Practice reading text passages.

Procedure:

1.      1) Opening routine.  Library event meeting will take place at 6P on this Wednesday.  Chinese group picture will take place at the end of 3P tomorrow.  Captains check WB homework.  Go over answer key.  2) Listening activity: WB pages 43 (Section B) / 44 (Section E).  Go over answer key.

2.      1) (1P/8P) Teach supplementary characters (, , , , ).  2) Read text passages pages 54-56.  3) (2P) Practice singing song / rehearsal + in-school field trip.

3.      1) Writing practice.  2) (1P/2P) Movie time.  3) (1P) Conversation question practice.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (2/10/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can count from zero to one hundred in Chinese.  2) I can showcase my mastery of recognizing 20 Chinese characters.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese tea.  4) I can understand the components of my oral presentation.

Homework: 1) Review Chinese counting principle.  2) Quiz #3: Tuesday, 2/18/14.

Procedure:

1.     1) Quick review (20 Chinese characters).  Quiz #2.  Makeup quiz: (5P: Matt, Michael, Henry, Bryan).  2) Counting from zero to one hundred.  Pass out quiz #3 for review.  4) Pass out / go over oral presentation handout.  5) Teach term (sui).  Write sentences #1-#2.

2.     1) (3P) Video clip: Chinese tea.  2) (3P) Showcase Chinese tea sets.
