Procedures for 2/12/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (2/12/14)


Objectives: 1) I can ask and answer simple conversation question.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese customs and / traditions through viewing a movie.  3) I can talk about my pet(s) and name animals.  4) I can sight read text passages fluently.  5) I can prepare for my chapter test.

Homework: 1) Study for your chapter test.  2) Practice conversation questions.  3) Prepare pictures for your pet(s).  3) Movie unit worksheet due tomorrow—e-mail Ms. Chang or Google Docs share with Ms. Chang.  Due in class tomorrow.  4) Pet paragraph due in class.  5) Lesson Seven oral exam in class on Friday (2 rounds from Lesson Six—name and profession, 4 rounds from Lesson Seven).


1.      1) Opening routine.  Collect skit printout w/checklist.  Library event meeting at 6P today.  2) Captains check WB page 47.  Go over answer key.

2.      1) (1P) Sight read text passages on pages 54-56.  2) (1P/8P) Go over supplementary animal handout.  2) (1P/8P) Go over Lesson Seven chapter test study guide.  3) Pass out / Go over Lesson Seven Supplementary Materials Handout.  4) Writing activity: Write a paragraph about your pet (What category is it?  How old is it?  What’s its name?  How does it look?)—Due in class.

3.      1) Movie time.  2) (8P) Conversation question modeling.




Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (2/12/14)


Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese.  2) I can brainstorm art project ideas from browsing through art project samples.  3) I can count from zero to one hundred.  4) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese tea, and Chinese finger guessing game.

Homework: 1) Practice reading sentences #1-#4.  2) Quiz #3: Tuesday, 2/18/14.


1.     1) Quick review (numbers 1-100).  Count from zero to one hundred.  Makeup work (5P: Henry, Matt, Michael, Bryan—quiz #2).  2) Teach terms (baba, mama, gege, didi, jiejie, meimei, he, liang).  3) Write sentence #4.  Practice reading sentences #1-#4.

2.  1) Culture reading: (3P) Chinese tea.  (5P) Showcase Chinese tea.  2) Showcase art project samples.  3) (5P) Video clip: Chinese tea.
