Procedures for 2/20/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (2/20/14)


Objectives: 1) (2P/8P) I can present a skit with my partner.  4) (1P) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese Lantern Festival.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) (1P) Practice conversation questions.


  1. 1) Opening routine.  Return Lesson Seven character worksheet / chapter test paper.  Captains check Lesson Eight character definitions.  Makeup work (1P: Naomi, Victor; 2P: Abigail, Shaan, Shannon; 8P: Sara, Luke, Maddy, Paxton, Bryan, Katie, Luke, Ian).  Ask for retake application form.  2) Go over common writing mistakes (猫 <=> 描, 狗 <=> 拘, 可, 金, 真).
  2. 1) (2P/8P) Skit presentation.  2) Teach supplementary characters (来, 去, 跑).  3) (1P) Conversation question practice.  Q/A.  4) Video clip: Lantern Festival w/exit slip.




Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (2/20/14)


Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself.  2) I can continue to explore origami art.  3) I can name popular animals and sports.

Homework: Practice reading sentences #1-#7.


  1. 1) Return quiz #3 papers.  Makeup work (3P: Trevor, Steve, Solimia: 5P: Matt, Grant, Ian, Henry, Diante, Tyler, Tom G.)—retake by the end of tomorrow.  2) Compare / Contrast American and Chinese address format.  Teach new terms (zhu zi).  Write sentence #7.  Read sentences #1-#7.  3) Pass out / go over sports / animal handouts.
  2. Origami: gift box.
