Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (2/21/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about my nationality.  2) (1P/8P) I can read text passage fluently.  3) (1P/2P) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  4) I can sharpen my listening comprehension skill through view video clips.  5) I can name countries.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Practice reading text passages.  3) Practice conversation questions.

Procedure:

1.      1) Opening routine.  (HR) List of places to report for tomorrow E/I FreshMentoring.  (2P/8P) Return culture exit slip.  Quick review (中国, 中国人, 美国, 美国人, 美人, 英国, 英国人, 德国, 德国人, 美德).  (2P) Skit presentation (James / Jake).  2) Teach new characters (, 哪国人, 哪个人, 哪只狗, 哪只猫, 哪只鸟, 哪匹马, 哪条鱼, 哪一个, 哪本书, , 加拿大, 加拿大人, , 中文, 英文, 德文, , 本子, 一本书, 日本, 日文, 日本人, , 哪里, 这里, 那里, 哪里哪里).  3) (1P/8P) Read text passages on pages 66-67.

2.      1) (1P/2P) Pass out / go over Lesson Eight conversation questions handout.  Conversation questions practice.  Q/A.  2) Writing practice.  3) Listening comprehension.

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (2/21/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself.  2) I can name colors.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese signature items and Chinese zodiac animals.  4) I can utilize a website tool to type Chinese pinyin and Chinese characters.

Homework: 1) Art project due tomorrow.  2) Quiz #4: Friday, 2/18/14.

Procedure:

1.      1) Return oral presentation draft #2.  Quick review (hong se, huang se, hei se, bai se).  2) Teach new terms (lan se, lv se, zi se, zong se).  Read sentences #1-#10.  3) Introduce a website www.mdbg.net, to type pinyin and Chinese characters.

2.      1) Video clips: Chinese Zodiac animals + Abacus + kite.  2) Show & tell artifacts; abacus, kites, mahjong, Chinese chess set.
