Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (2/6/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about pets and animals.  2) (1P/2P) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese customs/traditions through viewing a Chinese movie.  3) (2P/8P) I can sing Chinese songs.  4) (8P) I can prepare and rehearse performance for in-school field trip.

Homework: 1) Movie unit worksheet due on next Wednesday.  2) Finalize your skit.  It is due on next Wednesday.

Procedure:

1.      Opening routine.

2.      (1P/2P) 1) Quick review (宠物, 可爱, 可是, 爱人, , , , , , , , , , , 金鱼, ).  2) Review (真的啊! 是啊!).  3) Read text passages pages 54-56. 4) Introduce opposites of adjectives ( ó , / ó 可爱, 大小, 只是, 只有, <=> 不是, ó 沒有.  4) Pair activity: skit.  5) Pair activity: skit.  6) Movie time.

3.      (2P / 8P) 1) Song time.  2) Prepare Hi-Chew red envelopes.

4.      (8P) 1) Pair activity: skit.  2) Teach new characters (, , 宠物, , 可是, , 爱人, /愛好, , ).  3) Class activity: rehearsal of in-school field trip.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (2/6/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can showcase my mastery of Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can say/recognize numbers in Chinese.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese school and superstition about lucky and unlucky numbers.

Homework: 1) Review 8 picture characters + 12 number characters.  2) Quiz #2: Monday, 2/10/14.

Procedure:

1.     1) Makeup work (3P: Nolan; 5P: Michael, Henry, Ana, Matt, Tyler??).  Return 12 character writing assignment.  Quick review (26 terms) + (3P) 8 Chinese picture characters + 12 number characters).  2) Quiz #1.

2.     1) Video clips: Chinese school.  2) Culture reading:  Lucky + unlucky numbers.  3) Class activity: complete Double happiness paper pattern.  Collect as participation grade.
