Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (3/6/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk and write about my nationality, birthday, and language skill.  2) I can sight read Chinese characters proficiently.  3) I can read text passages fluently.  4) I can sing Chinese songs.  5) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.

Homework: WB page 54.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine.  Go to front auditorium during E/I today.  Captains check WB page 53.  Go over answer key.  2) Quick review (咦, 点, 一点儿, 得, 对 ó不对, 起, 对不起, 一起, 关, 系, 没关系, 澳大利亚, 问, 请问, 说, 新西兰, 新西兰人, 会, 汉人, 汉语, 语文, 英语, 日语, 德语, 加拿大, 加拿大人, 中文, 英文, 德文, 本, 本子, 一本书, 日本, 日文, 日本人, 中国, 中国人, 美国, 美国人, 英国, 英国人, 德国, 德国人).  3) Read text pages 66-69.  4) Pass out / go over song lyrics.  Song time.  5) Conversation Questions Q/A.
  2. 1) Writing practice.  2) (1P/2P) Timed character recognition activity.  3) Class work: Write a paragraph about your nationality, language skills and birthday.  Collect at the end of the class period.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (3/6/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can gain geographical, historical and political knowledge about China and major cities in China.  2) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about routines in Chinese elementary schools.

Homework: 1) Review learned greeting terms.  2) Quiz #1: Monday, 3/17/14.

Procedure:

1.     1) Any signature slip?  (3P) One signature slip without clear signature?? Collect China reading packet.  2) Complete the Introduction to Hanyu Pinyin handout.  3) Teach greeting terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Zai Jian).

2.     1) Culture reading: China.  2) Video clip: Chinese Schools.
