Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (3/14/14)


Objectives: 1) I can talk about favorite sports.  2) (1P/2P) I can read text passages fluently.  3) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  4) I can create a skit with a partner.

Homework: Know all new characters / meanings by next Monday.


1.      1) Opening routine.  Makeup work (2P: Cameron + Marco—character worksheet; 8P: Tina + Katie).  Ms. Chang will e-mail 9 Model UN students (Yui, Troy, Aaron, Paul, Anthony, Samantha, Evy, Jenna, Grace) links to new Chinese characters + 2 days’ lesson plans.  Ms. Chang collects scrambled sentences worksheet (pages 3-4).  2) Go over common writing mistakes.  3) Quick review (喜欢, 欢喜, 篮子, /籃球, 网球, 网子, 足球, 棒球, 木棒, , 板球, 木板, 骑车, 骑马).  4) (1P/2P) Conversation questions practice (I like…, I do not like, Do you like…..).  5) (1P/2P) Read text passages on pages 77-78.

2.      Pass out / go over Lessons 8-9 skit checklist.  Pair activity: brainstorm ideas and sentences to use.





Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (3/14/14)


Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms.  2) I can say and write numbers in Chinese.  3) I can explore and gain cultural knowledge about Chinese paper cut folk art and Chinese publications.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Quiz #1: Monday, 3/17/14, quiz #2: Thursday, 3/20.


1.      1) (3P) Return China reading packet.  Quick review (26 terms + 8 characters).  Makeup work (5P: Alajnia, Sam).  2) Pass out new square paper.  Teach new terms (yi, er, san, si).

2.      1) Complete 2nd paper pattern.  Collect as participation grade.  2) (3P) Culture reading: China.  Showcase Chinese publications + seals.
