Procedures for 3/18/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (3/18/14)


Objectives: 1) I can talk about my favorite sports.  2) I can sight read text passages and Chinese characters accurately and proficiently.  3) I can sing Chinese songs to help my Chinese learning.  4) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  5) I can create a skit with a partner.

6) I can review learned Chinese characters through assembling Chinese radical and components.

Homework: 1) Practice conversation questions, read text passages and character recognition.  2) Skit printout + checklist are due on Thursday, 3/20/14.


  1. 1) Opening routine.  The following students (1P: McKenna, Emma; 2P: Bryce, Jamie, Natalia, Abigail; 8P: Sean, Ian, Maddy, Logan, Sydney) turn in your due for Chinese Club, please.  2) Quick review (喜欢, 欢喜, 篮子, 篮/籃球, 网球, 网子, 足球, 棒球, 木棒, 板, 板球, 木板, 骑车, 骑马, 打, 踢, 运, 动, 运动, 动物, 运球, 忙, 打球, 打字, 打工, 打人, 皮球).  3) Read text passages on pages 77-78.  4) Timed character recognition.
  2. 1) Song time.  2) (1P/2P) Conversation questions Q/A.  3) (1P/2P) Writing practice.  4) Pair activity: work on your skit.




Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (3/18/14)


Objectives: 1) I can say, write and recognize numbers in Chinese.  3) (5P) I can explore and hold chopsticks to pick up Cheerios.  4) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese four treasures of study and Chinese characters.

Homework: Review learned picture + number characters.  Quiz #2: Thursday, 3/20/14.


1.      1) Makeup quiz / work (3P: Julie / Chris + Mark + Julie + Nick K.; 5P: Gaby + Maggie / Robert + Gabby + Julia + Sam + Alajnia + Maggie —12 characters, double happiness paper pattern / quiz; Kyle talks to Ms. Chang, please).  Quick review (8 Chinese picture characters + 8 number characters).  2) Teach new term (jiu, shi, ling, bai).

2.      1) (3P) Class activity: Chopsticks practice w/Cheerios.  3) (3P) Showcase Four Treasures of Study.
