Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (3/20/14)


Objectives: 1) I can talk about my favorite sports.  2) I can invite people to do things together and I can accept or decline invitation with polite expressions.  3) I can read text passages fluently and accurately.  4) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  5) I can gain cultural knowledge about sports schools and basketball in China.

Homework: 1) Practice skit for performance on Monday, 3/31/14.  2) WB page 56.


  1. 1) Opening routine.  (HR) Dress down money + Pass out flyer.  Chinese Club meeting at 6P today.  Draw a number for your 4th quarter seat.  Makeup work—exit slip from yesterday (1P: all; 2P: Yui, Natalia, Anthony; 8P: Bryan, Miles, Grant, Sean, Maddy, Emily).  Return exit slip + pass out culture reading articles + exit slips.  Collect skit printout + checklist.  2) Quick review.  3) Read text passages on pages 77-79.  4) Listening activity: WB 55.  Go over answer key.
  2. 1) Class activity: Interview (WB page 59).  2) Make a spinning wheel.  3) Culture reading w/exit slips (Basketball in China / Sports schools).  Collect at the end of class period.





Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (3/20/14)


Objectives: 1) I can count from zero to one hundred.  2) I can showcase my mastery of 20 Chinese characters (numbers + picture).  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese tea and Chinese lucky and unlucky numbers.

Homework: 1) Quiz #3: Friday, 4/4/14.  Art project due on 4/22/14.  Oral presentation starts from 4/23/14-4/24/14.  2) Review Chinese counting principle.


1.      1) No school tomorrow (in-service day); spring break from 3/24-3/28.  See you back on 3/31/14.  2) Pass out go over counting principle / number table.  Count from zero to one hundred.  3) Quiz #2.

2.      1) Culture reading: Chinese tea + (5P) Chinese lucky and unlucky numbers.  2) Video clip: Chinese tea.  Showcase Chinese tea sets.
