Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (3/5/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about my nationality and language skill.  2) I can read text passages fluently.  3) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Practice reading text passages + conversation questions.  3) WB page 53.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine.  All 8th graders report directly to the front auditorium for the quest speaker during E/I tomorrow.  2) Quick review (对 ó不对, 起, 对不起, 一起, 关, 系, 没关系, 点, 一点儿, 澳大利亚, 问, 请问, 说, 新西兰, 新西兰人, 会, 汉人, 汉语, 语文, 英语, 日语, 德语, 加拿大, 加拿大人, 中文, 英文, 德文, 本, 本子, 一本书, 日本, 日文, 日本人, 中国, 中国人, 美国, 美国人, 英国, 英国人, 德国, 德国人).  3) Teach new characters (咦, 得).  4) Read text pages 66-69.  5) Go over WB page 53.  6) Writing practice.
  2. 1) Pass out / go over Lesson Eight chapter test study guide.  2) Go over conversation questions handout.  Pair activity: Lesson Eight oral exam practice.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (3/5/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can gain geographical, historical and political knowledge about China.  2) I can learn basic Pinyin system.

Homework: China reading packet due tomorrow.

Procedure:

1.      1) Any signature slip?  Tornado drill will be at the beginning of 3P.  Review the procedure.  2) Pass out and go over Introduction to Chinese Pinyin handout.

2.     1) Video clip: Beijing + Shanghai.  2) Pair / independent class work time: China reading packet.  Turn it in if you are done with it.
