Procedures for 4/15/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (4/15/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can name body parts.  2) I can read text passages fluently.  3) I can answer simple conversation questions.  4) I can describe my physical features.  5) (1P/2P) I can reinforce new body part vocabulary through singing song and playing game.

Homework: 1) Review all body parts.  2) Physical description paragraph draft due: Thursday, 4/17/14.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine.  Captains check WB pages 63/66.  Go over answer key.  Quick review.  2) (1P / 2P) Song time: Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.
  2. 1) Go over / Read text passage on page 85.   2) Conversation questions Q/A.  3) Pass out / go over Supplementary Terms handout + supplementary body part terms handout + Checklist for physical paragraph description draft / PPT slides printout.  4) Class work: write 10 sentences about your physical description.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (4/15/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese early inventions, 6 popular sports in China, Great Wall of China, and terra cotta warriors.  3) I can brainstorm ideas for my art project.

Homework: 1) Complete your art project by 4/23/14.  2) Practice reading your oral presentation.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Read sentences #1-#10.  Makeup work (3P: Carlos—draft + origami #1; 5P: Sam: 1st pinwheel / Alajnia: 2 origami products).  2) Video clips: (5P) Gun Powder + (5P) Compass + Terra Cotta Warriors + Great Wall of China.  3) Showcase pictures of sample art projects.
  2. Culture reading: Chinese Early Inventions + 6 Popular Sports in China.
