Procedures for 4/16/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (4/16/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can describe my physical appearance and talk about my school and my grade.  2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions and listening comprehension questions.  3) I can read text passage fluently.  4) I can acquire Chinese language and culture through viewing a Chinese movie.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) WB page 67.  3) PPT paragraph draft due tomorrow.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine.  Wear something light blue or gray tomorrow.  Quick review.  2) Teach new characters (上, 级, 上级, 年级, 上车, 下车, 上网, 都, 王, 国王, 王子, 怡, 校, 学校, 校长, 校车, 班, 班长, 上班 ó下班, 同班, 上学).  3) Read text passages on page 85.
  2. 1) (1P/8P) Listening activity: WB page 64.  Go over answer key.  2) (1P/2P) Go over Lesson Ten conversation questions handout for remaining sentence patterns.  3) (1P/2P) Class work: PPT paragraph draft.  (8P) Movie time: China: the Panda Adventure.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (4/16/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about China New Year celebration, Mid-Autumn Festival, teens’ popular pastime and cram schools in China.  Homework: 1) Complete your art project by Wednesday, 4/23/14.  2) Oral presentation starts on Thursday, 4/24/14.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Read 10 sentences (oral presentation).  2) Makeup work (3P: Carlos; 5P: Alajnia).
  2. 1) Video clips: Chinese New Year + Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival.  Q/A session.  2) Culture reading: The Popular pastime for Teens in China + Cram Schools.  Q/A session.  (5P) Pictures from Mrs. Obama’s trip to China in late March 2014.
