Procedures for 5/1/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (5/1/14)


Objectives: 1) I can name common food items.  2) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  3) I can review grammar through working on a scrambled sentences worksheet.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Rearrange sentences test: tomorrow.


  1. 1) Opening routine.  Quick review.  Go over calendar again.  Return Voki checklist w/comments of pronunciation and missing printout.  2) (2P/8P) Go over common writing mistakes / Overview of Lesson Eleven.  3) Go over / model the strategy to get answer to the scrambled sentences worksheet.
  2. 1) Teach new characters (筷, 筷子, 拿筷子, 菜, 做, 想, 热, 热狗) w/dialogue.  2) Sentence pattern check up.  3) Class activity: conversation questions practice & Q/A.



Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (5/1/14)


Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms and classroom expressions.  2) I can write simple Chinese picture characters.  3) I can gain historical and cultural knowledge about Chinese characters.

Homework: 1) Review learned greeting terms.  2) Quiz #1: Tuesday, 5/13/14.  3) Signature slip is due tomorrow.


  1. 1) Any signature slip?  Collect / return China reading packet.  2) Teach new terms (Ni Hao, Ni Shi, Wo Shi, Lao Shi, Zai Jian).
  2. 1) Pass out / go over square paper, table of picture characters and 20 characters handout.  2) Video clip: Chinese characters.  3) (3P) Teach Chinese character (mountain).
