Procedures for 5/7/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P (5/7/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can name common food.  2) I can read text passages fluently.  3) I can create a skit with a partner.  4) I can review grammar through working on scrambled sentences.

Homework: 1) Complete worksheet page 6.  2) Brainstorm your ideas for your skit.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine.  Return your friend paragraph.  Any retake application form?  Review session: 6A/6B today.  Retake: 6A/6B on Monday, 5/12/14.  2) Read text passages on pages 83-85.  3) Pass out / work on Scrambled Sentences worksheet (page 6).
  2. Pair activity: draft your skit (day 1).

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Chinese I 8P (5/7/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can express my preferences of food and drink.  2) I can create a skit with a partner.  3) I can have fun flying the kite that I made.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Brainstorm your ideas for your skit.  3) Scrambled sentences worksheet pages 6- 8: due next Monday.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine.  2) Teach new characters (牛, 奶, 牛奶, 奶水, 春, 春天, 卷, 春卷, 炒, 饭, 白饭, 米饭, 炒饭).  3) Pair activity: draft your skit (day 2).
  2. Going outside to fly our kites!

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P (5/7/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms and classroom expressions.  2) I can write simple Chinese picture characters.  3) I can have hands-on experience with Chinese folk art of paper cutting.  4) I can gain cultural knowledge about daily routine in Chinese school and learn how Chinese characters evolve through viewing video clips.

Homework: Review learned terms / characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (16 terms + 5 characters).  2) Teach new terms (Qi Li, Jing Li, Zuo Xia, Qing Zuo).  3) Teach new characters (sun, people/person, moon).  Collect.
  2. 1) Video clips: (wood, mouth, fish).  2) Class work: cutting paper patterns (longevity, double happiness).   Collect as participation grade, if done.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 5P (5/7/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms and classroom expressions.  2) I can write simple Chinese picture characters.  3) I can have hands-on experience with Chinese folk art of paper cutting.  4) I can gain cultural knowledge about routines in Chinese schools.

Homework: Review learned terms / Chinese characters.

  1. 1) Quick review (20 terms + 7 characters).  2) Teach new characters (moon).  Collect.
  2. 1) Class work: complete paper cutting patterns.  Collect as participation grade, if done.  2) Video clip: Chinese school.
