Procedures for 5/8/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P (5/8/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can name common food items.  2) I can create a skit with a partner.  3) I can have fun flying the kite I made.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Brainstorm your ideas for your skit.  3) Scrambled Sentences worksheet (pages 6-8): due next Monday, 5/12/14.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine.  2) Teach new characters (牛, 奶, 牛奶, 奶水, 水牛, 乳牛, 黄牛, 春, 春天, 卷, 春卷, 炒, 饭, 白饭, 米饭, 炒饭, 炒菜).
  2. 1) Pair activity: draft your skit (day 2).  2) Go out to fly your kite.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P (5/8/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms and classroom expressions.  2) I can have hands-on experience with Chinese folk art of paper cutting.  3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Shanghai and daily routine in Chinese school.

Homework: Review learned terms / characters.  Quiz #1: Tuesday, 5/13/14.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (20 terms + 8 characters).  Return Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Teach new terms (Tong Xue Men Hao, Dong Le Ma, Dong le, Bu Dong).
  2. 1) Video clips: Shanghai + Chinese school.  2) Class work: complete paper cutting patterns.  Collect as participation grade.  3) Showcase paper cut artifacts + seals + Chinese publications.

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 5P (5/8/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms and classroom expressions.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese chopsticks and signature food items.  3) I can have hands-on experience with Chinese folk art of paper cutting.

Homework: Review learned terms / characters.  Quiz #1: Tuesday, 5/13/14.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Return Character writing assignment.  Quick review (20 terms + 8 characters).  2) Teach new terms (Tong Xue Men Hao, Dong Le Ma, Dong le, Bu Dong).
  2. 1) Showcase xuan paper, ink stick, ink stone, and brush pens + paper cut artifacts + Chinese publications + seals.  2) Class work: complete paper cutting patterns.  3) Culture reading: Chinese food.  .
