Procedures for 5/12/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 2P / 8P (5/12/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can name common food items.  2) I can sight-read Chinese characters and read text passages fluently.  3) I can create a skit with a partner.  4) I can ask and answer simple conversation questions.  5) I can review grammar through working on a review worksheet.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment.  2) Finalize your skit.  3) Review learned characters for quiz on Thursday / Friday.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Opening routine.  Ms. Chang checks worksheet pages 6-8.  (1P) Go over answer key.  (2P / 8P) Go over answer key to page 6.  2) Quick review.  3) Character recognition.  Go over temp grading rubric.  4) Read text passages on pages 83-85.
  2. 1) (2P / 8P) Teach new characters (冰淇淋, 冰水, 冰山, 冰棒 = 冰棍, 冰茶, 到, 别).  2) Pair activity: finalize your skit.  3) If time allows, conversation question practice.

 

 

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P / 5P (5/12/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can say simple Chinese greeting terms and classroom expressions.  2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese table manners, mealtime customs, and history about Chinese signature food items. 3) I can say / write numbers in Chinese.

Homework: 1) Review learned terms / characters.  Quiz #1: tomorrow.  2) Quiz #2 (20 Chinese characters): Tuesday, 5/20/14.  3) Chinese character writing assignment.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (26 terms + 8 characters).  (3P: Burke, Nikko + 5P: Bradley, Winter, Shannon – Wednesday for quiz; Nikko, Bradley, Winter, Shannon—second paper cut pattern).  2) Culture reading: Chinese Mealtime Customs.  3) Teach (one, two, three, four).
  2. Video clip: (3P) noodles (5P) roast duck.
