Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (9/9/14)

Objectives: 1) I can blend / discriminate consonants / vowels. 2) I can utilize 3 website tools to sharpen my listening skill (,, 3) I can say greeting terms with accurate tone and pronunciation. I can know the meanings of Chinese radicals.
Homework: 1) Review learned consonants / vowels. 2) Quiz #1: Friday.
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Book cover? Carlos reports to Ms. Chang at 6A. 2) Make up work (1P: Chris: Chinese name; China reading packet (Grace, Britney, Izzy, Alena, Christy, Destiney, Guenever, Chris—one copy without name). 2P: Carlos (Chinese name / Learning style / China reading packet / Mid-Autumn Festival); Learning style (Bonnie, Evan B., Logan-recalculate the score, please); Mid-Autumn Festival: Ethan P., China reading packet (Even J., Logan, Eric C., Hannah L., Bonnie, Julia, Caroline, Joey–3 copies without name). 8P: supplies (Faith); China reading packet (Marina / Maddie); one copy without name.
2. 1) Teach bpmf handout sections 1 & 2. 2) Pair activity: quiz each other meanings of greeting terms handout / reproduce bpmf terms.  Ms. Chang checks your pronunciation – part II.
3. 1) Go over website resources (pinyin table + tone drill). 2) (1P/4P) Daily quick dictation.

Procedure for Exploratory Chinese 3P / 5P (9/9/14)

Objectives: 1) I can write simple Chinese characters. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese tea culture. 3) I can understand how Chinese characters evolve through the years.
Homework: 1) Review greeting terms / classroom expressions. 2) Review learned characters. 3) Chinese character writing assignment. Due on Thursday, 9/11/14.
1. 1) Quick review (terms + characters). 2) Teach new characters (water + person / people).
2. 1) Video clips: (tree, mountain) + Chinese tea. 2) Showcase tea / tea sets.
