Procedures for 9/10/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (9/10/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can blend and discriminate vowels and consonants. 2) I can say / read / write numbers in Chinese.

Homework: 1) Review learned consonants / vowels & learned Chinese number characters (http://www.quickmandarin.com/chinesepinyintable/pinyintable_vertical.php, http://chinese.yabla.com/chinese-pinyin-chart.php,http://www.bbc.co.uk/languages/chinese/games/tones.shtml). 2) Lesson Three character definitions. 3) Chinese character writing assignment.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (HR) Picture day: Wednesday, 9/17/14. Fire drill at 8 am today. 2) Book cover (4P: Evan J., Joey, Cameron, Ethan M.; 8P: Ada—not singed up yet). Makeup work (1P: Chris—Chinese name / Grace & Izzy—China reading packet; 4P: Eric C., Logan, Evan J., Carlos, Julia, Joey—China reading packet / Ethan Pallone—Mid-Autumn Festival worksheet). 2) Daily dictation (greeting, blending). 3) Finish up bpmf handout sections 3 & 4.
  2. 1) (Gage, Destiny, Guenever, Eric C., Eric W., Jack, Ethan M., Logan—report to Ms. Chang at 6A today; Faith: 6A tomorrow). 2) Teach Chinese characters (one, two, three, four).


Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P /5P (9/10/14)

 

Objectives: 1) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese folk of paper-cut. 2) I can enjoy cutting paper patterns. 3) I can write Chinese simple characters. 4) I can understand how Chinese characters evolve through the years.

Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment. Due tomorrow. 2) Review learned greeting terms / Chinese characters.

Procedure:

  1. 1) Quick review (Chinese characters + greeting terms). 2) Teach new characters (sun, moon). Collect, if any?
  2. 1) Video clips: (sun + moon + person/people) + Chinese paper-cut. 2) Hands-on activity: cutting longevity.
