Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (9/15/14)

Objectives: I can blend / discriminate consonants / vowels.
Homework: 1) Review consonants / vowels & learned Chinese number characters. 2) Chinese character writing assignment. 3) Quiz #2 (dtnl): Thursday (oral—sounding out), 9/18 + Friday (MC + blending spelling out), 9/19. Quiz # 3 (numbers): Monday, 9/22/14, Unit #1 chapter test (Mid-Autumn Festival, Greetings, China): Friday, 9/26/14.
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (HR) Friday will be Red & Gold Day / College Gear day, / neon day / favorites sport team day. 2) Book cover (2P: Evan J., Joey). Return quiz #1 / China reading packet #2 papers. Captains check Lesson Three characters definitions. Makeup work (4P: Evan J., Kerry, Kaitlyn, Joey, Kylie S.; 8P: Faith). (Logan, Evan J., Gage, Destiny, Guenever, Jack, Eric C., Eric W., Ethan M, Faith) report to Ms. Chang at 6P / 6A today. 3) Daily dictation (greeting, numbers). 4) Teach dtnl handout sections 1 & 2.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (9/15/14)

Objectives: 1) I can read / write / say numbers in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese calligraphy.
Homework: 1) Quiz #2 (20 characters): Friday, 9/19. Quiz #3 (connecting the dots): Monday, 9/22. 2) Chinese character writing assignment. 3) Review learned characters.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return quiz #1 papers. Makeup work (3P: Natalie / Riley / Marquis). Quick review (16 characters). 2) Teach numbers (nine, ten, hundred, zero). Collect. 3) Play audio files (1-7 / 0-10).
2. 1) Video clip: Chinese calligraphy. 2) (5P) Showcase Four Treasures of Study: brush pen, ink stick, ink stone, and xuan paper.
