Procedures for 9/17/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (9/17/14)

Objectives: 1) I can blend / discriminate consonants / vowels. 2) (1P/4P) I can count from zero to nine hundred ninety nine by applying Chinese counting principle. 3) I can gain geographic and political knowledge about China.
Homework: 1) Quiz #2 oral (sounding out 5 syllables) tomorrow. 2) Review (bpmf / dtnl) consonants / vowels & learned Chinese number characters (12 numbers).
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (8P) Claim your textbooks. 2) Daily dictation (greeting, phone number, number characters, nl blending). 3) Class work: reading all syllables.
2. 1) (1P / 4P) Go over Chinese counting principle. 2) Go over Zheng Bang China reading packet #2 (pages 1-3).
3. 1) (1P) Video clips: Introduction to China. 2) Pair activity: sounding out all syllables.

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (9/17/14)

Objectives: 1) I can understand Chinese counting principle. 2) I can count from zero to one hundred. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese silk, embroidery, Chinese language, and Chinese characters.
Homework: 1) Review 20 characters. 2) Review Chinese counting principle.
Procedure:
1. 1) Quick review (20 characters). 2) Count from zero to one hundred.
2. 1) Video clips: Chinese silk + Chinese embroidery. Showcase silk cocoon. 2) Culture reading: China (pages 1-3). (5P) Showcase Chinese seals. 3) Pass out origami papers.
