Procedures for 9/30/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (9/30/14)

Objectives: 1) (1P/8P) I can blend / discriminate consonants / vowels. 2) (1P/8P) I can express math equations in Chinese. 3) (4P) I can improve my performance through peer-coaching session.
Homework: 1) Review consonants / vowels & learned Chinese operator characters. 2) Quiz #4 moves to Thursday (listening, writing blending, sounding out / reading blending). Lesson Three chapter test: Wednesday, 10/8/14. 3) Field trip survey: due Friday, 10/3/14. Type in the electronic version and e-mail back. 4) Self-correction work due in class on Thursday, 10/9/14. 5) Unit 1 Chapter test retake: 6P, Monday, 10/6/14.
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (HR) Any school fee payment? Any signed retake application form? Sent Ms. Chang your pictures from field trip, please. Ignore field trip task worksheet, but keep text for Lesson Three chapter test. Anyone sitting in Bus 2 lost his/her cell phone? Talk to Mrs. Shega, please. 2) Daily dictation (math equations). 2) Class activity: 1) Sounding out blending. 2) Sounding out flash h cards.
2. 1) (4P) Pass out chapter test paper / retake application form. Go over retake procedure / group activity: Jeremy (Evan B. + Even J. + Eric C.) / Lui + Emily (Ethan P. + Caroline + Ethan M.) / Dalenee + Liliana (Bonnie + Kaitlyn + Kerry) + / Cameron (Leon + Adam + Joey) / Alec + Kylie V. Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (9/30/14)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 2) I can say colors in Chinese. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese birthday celebration practice and the significance of colors in China. 4) I can explore tangram piece game.
Homework: Quiz #4 tomorrow.
Procedure:
1. 1) Quick review (8 colors). 2) Teach colors (cheng se, hui se, fen hong se). 3) (3P) Finalize draft #1. 4) Teach new terms (dian hua hao ma). Write sentence #6. Practice reading sentences #1-#6. Collect.
2. 1) Video clip: Chinese birthday celebration customs. 2) Culture reading: The meaning of Chinese colors / Birthday celebration.
3. Tangram piece game (day 1).
