Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (9/16/14)

Objectives: 1) I can blend / discriminate consonants / vowels. 2) I can say / read / write numbers in Chinese. 3) (1P) I can gain geographic and political knowledge about China.
Homework: 1) Review (nl) consonants / vowels & learned Chinese number characters. 2) Chinese character writing assignment.
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (HR) Picture tomorrow. Cards will be distributed tomorrow. 2) Clarification (bpmf / dtnl, not just dtnl). (4P) Check lesson three character definitions. Makeup work (8P: Suhashith). 3) Daily dictation (greeting, phone number, number characters, blending). 3) Teach dtnl handout sections 3 & 4. 4) Teach characters (nine, ten, zero, and hundred).
2. (1P / 8P) Go over China reading packet #2 handouts.

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (9/16/14)

Objectives: 1) I can read / write / say numbers in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese characters, Chinese paper cut work, and geography about China. 3) I can count from zero to one hundred.
Homework: Review learned characters + counting principle.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return Chinese character writing assignment. Makeup work (3P: Cameron / Natalie—8 picture characters; 5P: Liam—12 number characters). Retake (Riley—quiz #1). 2) Quick review (20 characters).
2. 1) Video clip: Chinese characters. (3P) Showcase four treasures of study. 2) (5P) Culture reading: China (pages 1-2). Showcase Chinese paper cut samples.
3. 1) Introduce Chinese counting principle. 2) Count from zero to one hundred.
