Procedures for 9/22/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (9/22/14)

Objectives: 1) I can blend / discriminate consonants / vowels. 2) I can showcase my mastery of two-digit numbers and taking phone number dictation proficiently. 3) I can apply Chinese counting principle to solve math equations in 4 skills (read, write, speaking, listening).
Homework: 1) Sound out loud learned consonants / vowels (g / k). 2) Practice sounding out math addition / subtraction equations. 3) WB pages 1 / 4. Due on Wednesday, 9/24/14.
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Any field trip permission slips? Chinese Club application is available now. Return quiz #2 papers. Makeup work (1P: Phoebe; 2P: Hannah H., Jessy; 8P: Matt, Andrew Clark, Suhashith, Charlie, Ada??). 2) Daily dictation (addition/subtraction equations—listening + reading). 3) Teach gkhjqx handout sections 1 & 2.
2. 1) Quiz #3: phone number dictation. 2) Ms. Chang conducts quiz #3 number conversion  pair / independent activity: 1) Practice addition / subtraction flash cards. 2) Practice sounding out g / k sections. 3) Work on WB pages 1 /4. 4) Watch video clip: Hanyin pinyin in 6 minutes, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9Ayvjy-Dgs.

 

 

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (9/22/14)

Objectives: 1) I can demonstrate my mastery of applying Chinese counting principle and learned Chinese characters to count from one to one hundred. 2) (3P) I can explore and enjoy making origami. 3) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese traditional painting and (5P) lucky and unlucky numbers.
Homework: Art project due on Tuesday 10/7. Oral presentation: Wednesday, 10/8 and Thursday, 10/9.
Procedure:
1. 1) Return quiz #2 papers. Makeup work (5P: Jake, Paul, Liam, Carolyn). 2) Video clip: Chinese traditional painting. 3) (3P) Complete origami product—gift box. 4) Culture reading: Chinese lucky and unlucky numbers. Showcase a picture of elevator without 4.
