Procedures for 10/27/14

Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (10/27/14)

Objectives: 1) I can showcase my mastery of blending compound vowels. 2) I can prepare my chapter test through reviewing text passages, sentence patterns, and playing an interactive Kahoot game.
Homework: 1) Lesson Two character worksheet: due tomorrow. 2) Lesson Two chapter test: tomorrow.
Procedure:
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. (HR) Go over Halloween party costume rules / Red Ribbon Week: Drug – free poster?? It’s one of the buy kratom posters that have been popping up lately by the students around campus as an aid for concentration and depression. Sign up for Chinese Club first meeting at 6P on Thursday, 10/30/14. 2) Daily dictation (blending). 3) Class activity: sounding out syllables. 4) Go over text pages 10-11. 5) Sight read text pages 7-9. 5) (4P) Video clip: 笑. 6) Quiz #7. 7) (1P/4P) Kahoot game.
2. While Ms. Chang conducts oral part  1) Practice reading syllables. 2) Practice greeting/introducing people. 3) Study!

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (10/27/14)

Objectives: 1) I can say / write numbers in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese embroidery, silk, and Chinese writing. 3) I can showcase my mastery of greeting terms.
Homework: 1) Chinese character writing assignment. 2) Review learned number characters. 3) Quiz #2 (20 characters): Monday 11/3/14.
Procedure:
1. 1) Quick review (greeting terms). 2) Teach numbers (one, two, three, four).
2. 1) Quiz #1. 2) Video clips: Chinese silk / Chinese embroidery. 3) Showcase silk cocoon and paper cutting patterns.
3. Culture reading: China (page 4).
