Procedure for MS Chinese I 1P / 4P / 8P (10/10/14)

Objectives: 1) I can blend / discriminate consonants / vowels. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about how Chinese characters evolve over the years through viewing video clips.
Homework: 1) Review consonants / vowels & learned Chinese number characters. 2) Quiz #5 (zh sh ch r c s z): Monday, 10/13/14.
1. 1) Daily greeting routine. Makeup work (1P: Gage; 2P: Kaitlyn, Carlos, Kerry; 8P: Anthony, David). 2) Quick review. 2) Daily dictation (blending). 3) Sounding out loud syllables. 4) Teach Compound Vowels handout sections 1 – 3 (ai ao ei).

Procedure for MS Exploratory Chinese 3P/5P (10/10/14)

Objectives: 1) I can talk about myself in Chinese. 2) I can gain cultural knowledge about Chinese Terra Cotta Warriors, popular music, school systems, cram schools and sports school.
Homework: N/A
1. 1) Rotate to German class from next Monday, 10/13. Makeup work—oral presentation (3P: Joshua K., Marquis, Mikayla, Aiden, Cameron, Justin; 5P: Chase, Andrew P). 2) (3P) Video clips: Terra Cotta Warriors.
2. 1) Culture reading: A Day in School / Cram Schools / Sports School / Popular Pastime for Teens in China. 2) (5P) Show and Tell: Chinese abacus, mahjong, & chess game. 3) (3P) Game time: Follow the leader.
